2 Lessons Taught
I am the owner/director of Pinecone Active Learning (www.pineconelearning.com) providing programs in math, reading and writing for kids from 3 to 13 and beyond. I created Pinecone 10 years ago based on my previous 15 years as owner of a major learning franchise with over 200 students. I wanted then and now to work with kids individually – each student is so unique – and work with them at their pace and their level for as long as it takes for the concept to click. Students have a lot of pressure to keep up and often have to “fake” knowing something they really aren’t sure of. It feels so good to really get it!
I work with little ones, but also with middle school and high school students. My learning center is small because we really focus on each student. Now, I’d like to expand the help I can offer to students anywhere. I also have online videos (free) that introduce each concept of fractions and pre-algebra. I will be expanding these to include more math levels and eventually reading and grammar. You can see these on my website. I also use Pinecone workbooks, when appropriate, in my private and online tutoring -- they provide excellent take-home practice after a session.
I love kids and like to have fun with them, which can take a lot of the pressure off (at all ages) in a learning situation. I offer a first lesson (30 min.) free so you can try it out with me and decide if it is a comfortable fit.
You can read some of the reviews on my website or check Yelp for Pinecone Learning. Thanks!
