My time at Loomis-Chaffee enabled me to explore many fields of study ranging from humanities to the hard sciences. Though I have a natural proclivity towards math and science, my teachers’ passions in English, History, and Social Science instilled in me growing interests in all of theses fields. I especially grew interested in the study of foreign language, and for me this class was Arabic. Supplementing the Loomis curriculum, I applied for, and was accepted to, and studied in an intensive government funded Arabic program in Boston. At this program, because of my previous knowledge of Arabic, I served not only as a student in the highest level course, but also as an aide to my classmates who were struggling. This experience, tutoring in a foreign language, taught me the importance of patience while teaching.
